The Blueprint
Traditional corporate healthcare often repeats the very systemic harm, isolation, and burnout that marginalized individuals and clinicians seek to heal from. At DM Collective, we actively dismantle these structures.
Our blueprint unites decolonized clinical justice with the principles of self-managing, liberated workplaces—drawing foundational insights from Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) and Decolonized Trauma-Informed Care.
We operate on a liberation-based clinical model anchored in Relational-Cultural Theory. Rather than pathologizing the individual, we recognize that psychological distress is often an understandable reaction to systemic oppression, chronic marginalization, racism, audism, and historical trauma. Healing takes place through authentic connection, mutual empathy, and shared power.
For Leadership: We reject authoritarian, top-down corporate control. Leaders act as liberating guides, mentors, and facilitators whose role is to remove barriers, share power, and provide the exact resources clinicians need to thrive.
For Work Culture: We refuse to build our practice on exploitation or exhaustion. By actively supporting our clinicians’ well-being, we prioritize emotional safety, sustainable workloads, fair compensation, and mutual respect.
For Community Members: We dismantle the rigid “expert-patient” medical hierarchy that strips power from marginalized individuals. You are the ultimate expert on your life. We walk alongside you as equal partners in your healing, addressing both personal growth and the systemic roots of distress.
We distribute decision-making and autonomy directly across our collective rather than hoarding authority at the top.
Schedule Autonomy & Balance: As 1099 clinicians, you have full control over your calendar. You set your own availability and choose your caseload between 2 to 20 direct session hours per week (with a maximum cap of 25 hours) to ensure your practice remains sustainable, energizing, and balanced.
Weekly Peer Collaboration Hangouts: Virtual work should never feel isolating. We host weekly peer collaboration hangouts where clinicians can connect, share space, exchange clinical wisdom, and cultivate genuine community without corporate pressure.
Protected Focus: Decentralization at DM Collective does not mean saddling clinicians with operational burdens. We manage administrative and billing logistics behind the scenes so you are completely free to focus on therapy and your personal well-being.
Cultivating Wholeness: We celebrate your full self. Clinicians and staff can show up with their complete cultural, linguistic, and intersectional identities without code-switching or conforming to dominant-culture expectations.
When complex situations, diagnostic questions, or advocacy dilemmas arise, clinicians have a clear, supportive pathway for consultation that centers collaboration over hierarchy:
Immediate Team Consultation: Meet first with your assigned team or peer pod to talk through situational dynamics, explore cultural factors, and gather diverse perspectives.
Collective Consultation: If the situation calls for broader insight, the discussion moves to a collective consultation with all teams across the practice to tap into the wider wisdom of our community.
CEO Mentorship & Resource Facilitation: If additional support is still needed, the CEO steps in directly as a mentor and facilitator—working alongside you to provide specialized guidance, navigate systems, and secure whatever external resources or tools are required to support both you and the community member you serve.
Our Liberation Clinical Model and Decentralized Organizational Structure reinforce one another:
Refusing to Replicate Harm: We cannot provide decolonized, trauma-informed care to our community if our internal workplace replicates the surveillance, control, and hierarchy found in traditional systems.
True Autonomy & Agency: Treating clinicians as trusted, self-directed professionals allows them to show up for community members with clarity, emotional ease, and open hearts.
Shared Power, Collective Healing: When power is decentralized and shared, clinicians build a peaceful workplace where every provider has a voice, every community member is seen as an equal partner, and our collective thrives together.
